FAQ

How do I set up an appointment?

You can contact me via email or phone to arrange an initial consultation. Feel free to ask any questions about my training, experience, and treatment philosophy to assess whether you would like to meet with me for further discussion.

What happens in the first session?

The first session is a 75-minute initial consultation. The primary goal of an initial consultation is information gathering. I will ask you questions regarding your motivation for seeking treatment, the goals you would like to achieve in therapy, and any background information that may assist me in treatment planning. You also have an opportunity to assess your level of comfort with me and to inquire about my treatment approach. Attending an initial consultation does not obligate you to entering into a therapy relationship with me. If we determine that my services are a good match for you, we will discuss the scheduling of regular therapy sessions.

How often would we meet for sessions?

Typically, therapy sessions occur for 50-minutes on a weekly basis. Modifications to this weekly meeting schedule will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

How does payment work?

I accept payment at the end of each session in the form of cash, check, or credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, and American Express)

Do you accept insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider and do not accept insurance directly. However, I will provide you with a detailed invoice at the end of each session that you may submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. This invoice will include all the information that is typically required by insurance companies.

How do I know if my insurance company will reimburse me for your services?

Most insurance companies reimburse for mental health services. You may call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask the following questions:
1) Does your plan reimburse for out-of-network mental health providers?
2) Is there a deductible?
3) What is the rate of reimbursement?
